Phetchaburi, UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, participated in the Thailand Creative Cities Network (TCCN) Forum 2026, held in Bangkok on 5–6 August 2026, strengthening collaboration and knowledge exchange among UNESCO Creative Cities in Thailand and international partner cities.
On 5 August, the Phetchaburi representative joined the Bangkok Technical Tour, exploring Bangkok’s creative ecosystem through visits to Talat Noi, River City, the Charoenkrung creative district, Warehouse 30, and the Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC).
The programme highlighted how cultural heritage, historic neighbourhoods, contemporary art, design, local communities, and creative businesses can be integrated to revitalise urban areas while generating new economic and social opportunities.
On 6 August, the TCCN Forum 2026 was held at Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lamphong), bringing together representatives from UNESCO, Thai government agencies, and Creative Cities from Thailand and overseas. The programme featured discussions on cultural capital, sustainable creative city development, and the role of international collaboration within the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
One of the key international sessions focused on “Financial System for UNESCO Creative Cities Network,” with representatives from Berlin (Germany), Cebu (Philippines), Jakarta (Indonesia), and Echizen (Japan) sharing perspectives and experiences on mechanisms that can support the long-term development of creative cities.
Phetchaburi: Sharing the Journey of a Creative City of Gastronomy
A key highlight was the knowledge-sharing session on the development of UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy, featuring representatives from Phuket, Phetchaburi, and Songkhla.
Representing Phetchaburi UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, Mr. Kraisorn Srisuwan, Focal Point of Phetchaburi, participated in the forum as part of Phetchaburi’s continuing commitment to strengthening cooperation within Thailand’s Creative Cities Network and connecting local gastronomy, cultural heritage, communities, and the creative economy.
The forum also created opportunities for cross-disciplinary exchange among Creative Cities in the fields of Gastronomy, Design, Crafts and Folk Art, Literature, and Music, demonstrating that creativity can serve as a common platform connecting cities beyond geographical and disciplinary boundaries.
For Phetchaburi, the experience provides valuable perspectives for further developing its creative city ecosystem — from strengthening local food communities and creative entrepreneurs to exploring creative districts, city-to-city collaboration, and international partnerships.
Phetchaburi will continue to transform its rich gastronomic heritage into opportunities for people, communities, and the next generation, while contributing actively to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
From Local Flavours to Global Connections — Phetchaburi continues its journey as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
